Each year, we organise regular fundraisers for one local charity chosen by our members, as well as the Associated Country Women Of The World (ACWW) which is the international charity supported by the WI movement.
Admiral Nurses (Ilse of Wight)
Following our members’ vote, we will be supporting this charity in 2017. Admiral Nurses are mental health nurses specialising in dementia care. They join up the different parts of the health and social care system, so the needs of family, carers and people with dementia can be addressed in a coordinated way. This model of nursing, developed by Dementia UK, is proven to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and enable people with life-limiting conditions to live the best quality of life that they can, while improving support to their families.
